Xero, I've been reading the post on the Fiberglass sites. It would be great if a couple of those guys switched over to Aluminum. What kind of weight ratio difference is there between the two? I Know they are pretty heavy! |

Not possitive about the actual weight difference but there is plenty of design difference. Lots of those glass guys are trying to make a 30 year old design go like a new boat. They just keep stuffing more power and money (don't forget about heavy chrome) into an old POS in most cases. Don't forget about the bow tanks either
Alls it will take is for a few nice sport boats and quick tunnel boat to show up at one of their events and I'm sure they would be sold.
Whitey & James,,, When do we go??

Funny you should mention that baldy, I've been talking to a fella about that same subject. I think he is a fiberglass fella, Anyways I think I might have convinced him to race in one of our races in the states this year. He is thinking on the Gold Beach race. He was wondering if any outboards have ever run before. The guy wanted a few of us to show up at one of their races. It's called the Parker race. It"s in October. I think it might be on a lake or something. Just imagine how many jaws would drop if some of the aluminum boys showed up for that race! Anyways waiting for his reply on our races. He wanted to see the rules and regs. for the race. Who knows maybe we can convert some of them to an aluminum can instead of a glass bowl. This fella runs the forum on BOAT Racing Facts. Okay James this is were that sales pitch comes in just kidding! |

Hey guys, and gals (I thinkin)
My boat (tank) has a 460 Ford<language.
She is 26' long has a 9.9 Merc BF kicker 2-30 gal tanks (full) one2 1/2 gal 2 batteries all kinds of fishing equipment, tools, spare parts and oil etc. two tarps, drinks etc. Me, and three passengers. I get 43 forty three MPH on the lake. GPS
My neighbor has the same engine (out of a truck) in a 16' Fiberglass boat,
one 30 gal tank and only him in the boat.
He is 5 five MPH faster GPS than ME
Is this supposed to make sense??
BTW my boat has A 3/8 thick hull and 3/16 thick transom and forward deck. _________________ FORD=Power for the thrills of life!

My hull is Aluminum pretty flat at the back.
His is Fiberglass fairly deep "V"
I figure he should be screaming by me.
I'm running 3500 at that speed with a 1.126 overdrive at the pump. _________________ FORD=Power for the thrills of life!

If he is running a deep V he is probably doing to much plowing instead of plaining. Plus I know that fiberglass is real heavy. Heck the weight ratio for both boats might be the same? Aluminum might be the way to go for your friend. Does he run this on rivers? I have only seen one fiberglass boat on the river before. |

Not me, I like the challenges
Having said that, not the kind of challenges you guys take on!
Respect and hats off to all of you.
Good luck everyone in the Worlds

Are their boat hulls supplied from Eagle. They appear to be very similar. |

Sure looks like it checkout the name on the trailer the tunnel is sitting on. Doesn't Eagle make the trailers also for the boat. I thought I saw the name somewhere on their page. |

Gator rigs our raw hulls. We ship to them regularly. They even have a few models built just for them
