There are alot of glass boat guys trying to figure out how you (tin boat guys) do it. We glass boat guys make tons of HP but you guys seem to be really putting up the #s. Is there anything you can help us with. We are all jetboat guys. This is one guy from Hot Boats question.

Thanks
Jim

Wicked Performance Boats; Hey whitewater guys, Could you possibly post some pics of a whitewater jet intake for some of us "southern" jetboaters? Budlight

A couple of mine.

This fancy billet intake was built by Tim Harding in Oregon. It's slightly different to the regular Eagle boat intake, which sometimes takes in air and makes it hard to put the boat on plane.

There is a picture of the bottom, where you can see the so-called "spoon". I took the pictures before placing the grate.

Fiberglass boats use the famous "ride plate". I don't know if it really helps. It would not work in very shallow water and probably that's why tin boat builders don't bother with that.

The main advantage of aluminum is that a solid aluminum boat is lighter than a solid fiberglass boat, and that makes up for most of the speed difference.
