Posting on behalf of the Alberta Masters Games.
There will be a couple of canoe races on the N Saskatchewan above Rocky Mountain House during the upcoming Alberta Masters Games. Friday 23 Aug will be a 6 man Voyageur canoe race from Horburg to the Historic Site. Sunday 25 Aug will be a 2 man canoe race from below Fischer Rapids to the Historic site. Both races will start at 10am and end by 2:30pm (hopefully!). As these are individually timed events it is requested that any power boats observe a "no wake" policy for the participants. Canoes will leave the start line at 3 minute intervals and there will be approximately 15 participants per race. Safety boats will be ahead of the leader and behind the last canoe as well as boats warning of the race at the start and end areas.
