At the circuit races in Whitecourt when the fx boats came out, the first thing i noticed was that there were 2 tunnel boats. i was always under the impression that you needed quite a bit more power than something like a zz4 produces take advantage of the whole tunnel concept. Although It was definitely working for Air Time II. Any one care to comment?

Thanx

I have a tunnel and use a ZZ4, and the tunnel works fine.

This, however, is a short boat (20 ft) and some changes have been made to the original Eagle configuration. Basically, all the weight was moved about 40 cm to the back. Also, the intake of the boat was modified and pushed backwards.

The regular tunnel hull works fine with the ZZ4 but, you do have to push weight as back as possible.

That's what I can say about it.

We have two great FX boats for sale right now. A 2005 19'light weight sport chromoly roll bar, 5 point harness, dominator pump race nozzle travel cover. Just needs a ZZ4 and a trailer.

That 20' Tunnel looks good for a ZZ4 engine. Should be giving speeds on late 70's /early 80's depending on how good you are tuning the pump. Go for it!!

Hey Wilson, are you running a stock ZZ4, or do you make changes to it?

Strictly Stock as it came out of the box. I haven't even removed the valve covers!

I did place a fancy MSD Ignition system and am using a 750 CFM Carburetor. I use a mechanical fuel pump and that's pretty much it.

Fx class in Mexico is defined pretty much the same as the "C" Claimer class in Canada: You can use any engine as long as it's less than 365 C.I., you use one carburetor, and use no dry sump. There is a claimer of $5000 U.S. for any engine in the class.
