Had a 12 degree bobcat and a 12 degree Nahanni looking at a 8 degree muskwa now want to know how noticeable is the bottom difference? I been on a big lake with a old flat bottom marathon noticed a difference between the two. I understand flatter runs skinnier water just never seen the two side by side on a big river with some chop |

The 8d will be a lot rougher than the 12d in the waves, and won't steer as good in narrow channels. But with the same bottom width, the 8d will be better at sliding a heavy load through the shallows. Advise... is to test drive an 8d. |

if all is equal in the boat weight, motor and pump... how much difference in "required" water depth does the 8 degree make? would the 8 degree be harder on fuel? or slower on step? |

i went with a 10 because of the lake. I found an 8 too rough.
The perfect setup is to buy an 8 for the rivers and a lake boat for the lake! _________________ 2014 18' Ali-Craft LSA/212 |
