heading to the Yukon again this summer, looking to spend some time fishing, thinking about a trolling set up to help keep the boat a little more manageable when fishing. looks like 50 60 80 110 lb thrust , how long shaft, front or back mount, make and model, battery requirements, or gas powered . any opinions ? |

I'd go with a 36 volt Minkota hand-op bow mount. Simple design, runs shallower than the foot peda version, easier in current too without the cable wig/wag torque steer. I put a Stealth DC charger in mine to charge the batteries on the fly, great when river camping. This set-up has saved my butt when issues came up with the pump or big engine. A lessor trolling motor isn't worth a dam in jet boat land. It may prevent you from becoming bear food. _________________ Real boats don't have propellers!
