Well now I know I need a stronger boat...
Went out for a couple days fishing..caught some monster pike, just about had my finger bitten off. All good so far. Starting to think about heading back, so we b-line for our fuel cache..wouldn't you know it some ahole finds our gas and steals a 5gallon can. Now we have to take short cuts to get back, as we are 30 miles from town, sure enough, were dodging boulders doing good..relax for 2 seconds to check gear and gas level...bamn big dent, fist sized hole, water spraying all over. So pumps on, plugs out and full throttle back, but shes still takeing water on..and of course we run out of gas a mile from the truck..water is 140ft deep..start paddling...grab the primer bulb and starting priming..just enough to get on the trailer..I actully thought it was going down when I was a mile from shore and the first thing I thought was I don't have insurance..we need to get to shore...
anyway RR III filming went pretty good..too much fun Laughing

Wow sounds exciting. Where are you at that you can be hitting rocks and in 140 foot of water on the same trip?

Great Slave Lake.
Check out the map key..that red track is 245 km one way. She's a big lake. Actually 140ft is shallow for GSL, there are numerous places where the water is 2000ft .

Sorry Xero the cams got put into dry bags when we had two plugs out, both pumps on, flat out and still taking on water. Shocked

All that water and you had to pick the line with the one rock out of that whole bay. LOL

ya I know. I could have went the outside channel...but what fun would that be. Its more fun on the inside of the islands. Lucky I didn't have the prop on!
