Random question I know.

The gf wants to replace her car with a tacoma looking at a couple year old one the towing capacity looks to be about 6500lb

How diasapointing will that be for towing my 16' heavy centre console
Firefish.

My truck is a f350 just wondering if hers would be adequate.

I've towed around a boat for a couple years with a land cruiser v6 and it was a dog.....being underpowered sucks. I'm sure it would do it but would be very disappointing especially compared to your f350.

Put her into a F150 Eco boost with the V 6 and twin turbo , it will pull that boat for a joke , plus much better gas milage when hooked up or unhooked

Dodge 1500 eco diesel would be much better than the above suggested. In my opinion.

Try towing YOUR boat with truck before purchase! I've got a Ford Excursion with small 5.4 engine and towed a 23' NW jet and worked fine in my opinion. Vehicle was about the same weight as the boat and trailer. A previous tow vehicle was bad (short wheel base and lighter), since it felt like the tail was waging the dog. How fast you take off from a stop or speeding up a hill isn't everything. I don't think your 16' is that much weight to tow and tow vehicle price is a consideration.

I towed my 14.5 center console firefish for years with my Tacoma. It does fine. Fuel economy is marginal in a Taco though. You can get the same mileage with a full size.

Thanks for the input. Boat with full fuel on trailer came in at 4240 on the scale.

Really would just use it for short hops to the river boat launch is only 15k away longer trips my oneton is still up for the challenge

I tow my 19' V8 boat with my ranger often. It actually does quite well!

If it wasn't for the funny looks I get from the 'nice truck' crowd I'd do it more.
