I've always had jet boats with windshields that open up, like a door, that gives you access to the cabin area from the bow. Our next boat may be a small boat with only a wind defector at the front of the seating area and closed front bow. This is the type of boat I see in Canada for running shallow water. I'm from the States. My wife is a little over 5' tall and it would be difficult for her to step from the bow to the floor. My only idea is some sort of step stool on the floor. Walking into the water and coming into the boat from the side would get really old fast. How do you do it???
My offer was accepted on a Wooldridge Alaskan 17', w/access via windshield, so above question has become a non- issue. Still curious about my question, so if you want to respond feel free. |

We have 15 1/2 foot Eagle sprint and my nav (Lynn) is 5 foot (or 5 foot 1/2inch as she would say).
She climbs onto the bow and walks or slides down the gunnel til she is next to her seat, then puts her left leg in, stands on the seat then brings her right leg in and that's how she does it. She grabs the windscreen for support.
P.S. your gonna love that Wooldridge! _________________ Cheers, Jesse |
