Just wondering what is the reccomended set up for an open coolong system on a zz5 motor with a. Berkley jet? Rite now water goes from the jet, through a tube and shell oil cooler, through a ball valve, into the block where the water pump would normally be, then out the t stat housing wich is a stacker with 2 5/8 lines coming out and no t stat inside. I have a guage that shows water pressure at the intake which runs around 20psi when it revs at 5000rpm. I think i may be overpressuring the block causing either an intake or head gasket to leak as it is now pumping water outta both pipes. I havent ripped it apart yet to see wut has failed. Should a guy have a prv on the supply line to the engine? Or wut?

For a pleasure craft use a phase and bypass system. Eagle usually has tehm. Taht will control temp and pressure.
At 20 psi you shouldn't damaged anything. Biggest worry on a zz5 for block pressure would be the core plugs in teh side of the block coming out. Having said that if you have water coming out both ex and they are dry exhaust headers then you have a problem for sure.
In a race application just run one #8 line to a t from the pump then into the engine and run 2#8 lines out at teh top.
