My boat lost a tine from the redneck custom intake grate while idling. It made the rounds before falling out. I want to clean up the impeller blades. I've read to sharpen only the leading edges. While I'm in there, is it worth removing casting flash or texture from anything? My boat has a Chevy 350 with about 325 HP, and AT SD-309, top RPMs are about 4,500 at about 53 mph. What would I likely gain with the correct clean-up / port and polish job? Does this grate design look okay? We added one tine from the stock one.

There was someone doing this out west using a sand slurry and pumped it through the bowl to clean it all up. end results were some really nicely polished bowls, may not see much change in a stock engine powered boat but it may really show up with a hi-perf set up. _________________ It was like that when I got there! |
