| Just wondering how much it costs to fix sport jet motor? How much is a new sportjet? Could you fit a V8 in a 18ft lynx? |

I checked on this recently myself...I believe you can buy a Merc shortblock for about $4500. There are Merc factory remans now out of the states at about $3500.
No idea on doing the sportjet to V8 swap, but I know there are Lynx 18' V8 units out there...so it must be possible.

It would involve removing the protection
Around the pump, cutting out the pump box,
Modifying the transom to the correct
The transom angle, then installing a new intake.
Also goin with a v8 will require a longer engine bay, so u would
Need a longer doghouse or engine cover.
It's hard to quote without knowing all the details.
It could be a minimum $8000 job plus the pump
And engine...
