For a pleasure boat you may want to consider the 383ht or zz383 ...I assume you have a carbureted motor

Unless you run a B impeller you will not gain a lot with the zz4 as you will not be in the RPM range to make extra power

The heat exchanger and manifolds fit all small blocks

If you have the old style 3.5 outlet manifolds you should change to the 4 inch models if you upgrade the motor

Can you reflash the ecm for the fuel injected models?
Or you have to run a carb?

The engine supplier (Kodiak or equivalent )can remap the controller

You also have to move the crank sensor from the 350 over as the 383 is not provided with one.

The engine suppliers previously did 383 packages until emmission and warrantee issues came up.

While many boaters use them GM does NOT warrantee the 383 for marine use

I run a zz 383, it works great in a pleasure boat, way more TQ than a zz4.
