Whats the dif between a regular Drop and a StepTech Nozzle

A Droop is a cast aluminum or billet piece that goes between the split bowl and nozzle. They are made is several angles from 0 to 7 degrees and in several lengths. Usually used by Fiberglass Guys.

All the information I can get about the steel race nozzle is that Eagle only makes one style at the present time, but that MAYBE you can get them to change the rear angle.

I know that there was been different lengths made over the years. When I talked with Eagle and others they said to buy the latest one and then play with spacers and wedges to fine tune. I talked to Tunnel and Step-Tec guys.

Hey Midwet,
In a couple week-ends I tried about every wedge, spacer combination you can think of.
Neither of those two pictures ended up being the Fastest for either set-up.

But, I now have the Droop and Place Diverter with reverse and I'm 2 mph slower than with the Race Nozzle. For running in unfamiliar places and loading, etc. I'll sacrifice the mph.

But, if I was going race'n I'd have to change.

Oh yeah, my boat comes out of the water and up on plane completely flat. That was pretty much the price of admission right there.
