Just got back from checking over my ocean boat in Prince Rupert, all the buzz around Mcleans shipyard is about the new manditory vessel licsence program that is about to land on us soon. Check out the article in Pacific Yacht mag this month. The coast guard is taking submissions and comments from the public until the end of the month. Looks like another hit coming toy a wallet near you soon. This will be an anuall fee for a lic decal that must be on all boats. The excuse is to take care of all the costs of derrilect vessels abandon around the country. Cash grab or ?

Problem with the current system is that not everyone changes the reg from the previous owner. Fine for not having your registration paper on the boat is $250. |
