Hi I just picked up a boat with a Sport jet in it (240) I was wondering how they performed with alot of crap in the water, Last spring I was Hunting Bears on the Peace and it was loaded with debris and the Hammy 212 handled it flawlessly, I am hoping to find out what to expect with this boat, Thanks in Advance for all your help.

Only problem I've had is with the stomp grate plugging off and an occasional stick in the impeller!

The Hi-Skew will be much better than the stock impellor but a stomp grate is a necessity.

only problem i ever had was first run of the year last spring up the freeman river i got a long willow stick(i presume)stuck in the imp.thought i was gonna have to abandon ship cuz the current was an honest 12-mph.finally came loose after hammering in reverse a few times.keep in mind this is a very small river and right at breakup, about the worst conditions Ive seen, for trash in the water.other than that,no prob.cheers!

I put quite a few hours on the rivers in central ab (NSR, atha'b, etc). and I haven't had any problems. I usually do two trips to the Fraser every year and i get something in the impeller every time. The stuff that gives me problems seems to be longer roots or sticks that make it through the stomp grate. The shorter stuff usually gets chewed up and goes through. Last year I sucked up a piece of rope from a net on the Fraser and that caused me some real grief.
In my experience ham's handle the junk better than the SJ's do.
