Does anyone know if Edelbrock etec 200 aluminum heads will work ok on a kodiak vortech 350? And how much extra hp?.Concerned about the cam mostly.[/i]

They will fit on and work ok....but I doubt if you will see much performance gain...if any.
The rpm range for a regular Kodiak at wot is 4000 to 4200 ...with that and the restriction of wet exhaust you are below the area where increased air flow would make more power.
The stock vortec head is a very good design

You will require longer pushrods but your cam is fine

The aluminum heads are lighter ...but they have bigger valves that are prone to tuliping if you get bad fuel.

The US crews racing AWJA rules in the FX class, used to put vortec heads onto a zz4 cammed engine and run up around 400h.p if the "Stories" are true.
There are a lot of smart engine guys on the boards here that can clear this up better than me, not a hard job really!

The factory Vortec heads are 170 cc ports vs the etecs at 200. With the low rpm that the engine is turning you would likely loose tq/hp by putting them on in your operating range. As had been said the Vortechs gave a decent combustion chamber and the only one better with GM is the fastburn heads. For reference the vortec heads outflow the etec 170 cc port heads on the intakes but give it up alot on the ex.
