As you may (or may NOT) have heard APBA is changing insurance companies-with a fairly substantial upcharge for premiums. K & K. the previous insurer dropped APBA primarily due to the risk in the pit areas. They found sites where the pits were not well controlled and people were in the pits who had not signed waivers and had wristbands on. The new insurance company is American Specialty which has increased premiums and will be more strict. This is NOT just aimed at Jet River Racing, this is for every form of racing the APBA sanctions.
All pit areas, both ends of the course, will have to be 100% controlled with one entrance, that is manned, with the waivers and arm bands.
All drivers/ navigators and ANY other crew members in the pits will have to have signed a waiver and have an arm band. This includes even family members.
We think ("regulations" are still being formulated) that John Q Public will still be allowed in, BUT only with the waiver signed and a wristband on.
This will raise the "hassle" level a bit. Please be prepared _________________ "faster, Faster, FASTER until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of DEATH"#163 "Tuff-n'-Nuff" |
