Were having a poker rally in Peace River in memory of Herb Setz Sr. On August 13/2011 the rally will begin at 12 noon at the lower west peace boat launch. 20$ per hand and a 15$ beef on the bun meal will be held at the end. Contact Joan at 780-618-1821 or Lyza at 780-618-9188 for more info. Proceeds will be split 50% to the top three hands and 50% to the Peace River SPCA. (SPCA rep will be present)

The rally will have stops between Peace River and the Peace Island Tours camp where the beef on a bun will be served and the hands will be read. Registration will be from 12-1 at the lower west peace launch but if that launch is inaccessible we will move to the north end launch. Signs will be posted if we move the start/registration. See you on the water!

Aaron, maybe see if Chad will sticky this or put it up in the general forum for the week.
Would be nice to see lots of people come out to help honor a mans life that revolved around the river and boating in all facets. Herb had a hand in getting alot of people into pleasure boating and boat racing. Right up to the end if you stopped to visit, he wanted to sit out on the front patio and overlook the river to see who was out there doing what. He will be missed always.
From what I've been told one of the card stops during the rally will stop at Herbs cabin, before stopping down at Tar Island for supper. Hope to see eveyone come out to help family and friends celebrate an ambassador to our passion/sport and his life.

A big thanks to everyone who supported this rally last weekend with donations or by participating. It was a major success and will be held again next year on the same weekend. Over 1300$ was raised to donate to the Peace River SPCA, 1300$ in cash prizes given for the best hands and 2500$ in donated door prizes were drawn for! Thanks again for the support everyone.
