Hey peoples My boat has a strange clanging sound in the back,not motor but the jet,always when idling and just when I give it a little thrust then goes away, sounds tinny like the wear ring came loose or some thing else that is rattling around in there just wondering what it could be I took the nozzle off did'nt see anything and greased the hell out of the bearing as usual didnt make a difference.

did you recently instal a stainless impeller ? if so that may be the noise they will rattle until you bring up the rpm a little bit

It is the stainless impeller actually rattling against the wear ring until the water actually acts as a cushion between the two.

I've got a strange sound coming out of my boat too. Sorry, it's the wife nagging me about spending money on a boat!! Getting used to it, so I guess it's not a strange sound anymore.
