Trying to repair my pump after Idaho and having issues. I have older Dom pump with smaller Ring bore in housing what should bore be to run newer style wear rings and does anyone run an ring insulator? Or do i just recut bore .002-.003 under ring size and drive in ring metal to metal? |

id suggest using an insulater for sure.throw your wear ring in the deepfreeze for abit as it helps abit in the instalation process! good luck _________________ When in doubt hammer down! |

zipper , the berkeley housing bore is 7.749" . if the old dominator bore is small enough to machine up to a berk. wear ring without an insulator , i'd go for it in a riverboat . _________________ Rick's Precision Machine

going in my race boat....just trying to get concensious if I should use insulator or just go metal to metal and interferance fit wear ring to pump housing after I bore the pump housing bigger. Wocket sent bore spec's which appears the bore size is 7.750 or as you stated 7.749 to accept newer style wear rings w/insulator. the question now is, do I use an insulator in race applications. pump will be harnessed to no more that 550 HP, 575 torque. .Thanks RPM |
