LOTS of places for a motorhome. IF you are self contained you can stay many, many places FREE. Island Bar (where the start/finish lines are) has acres and acres of places to park. Also BLM pit toilets and porta-johns. Their is some parking at Shorts Bar. It fills up faster. It is about 2 1/2 miles down from the start and the place where we launch. A LOT of folks set up there and just watch from there. It is kind of at the last of the fast "flat" water. I will post up some pictures! You technically can park in the parking lots of the grade school and high school. They ARE public land. The grade school is right in the middle of town, and within 10 minute walking of a third of the course. The high school is a little farther away, but also a little quieter. There are Forest service and BLM campgrounds in the area also. More to come-just come on "down". Bring lots of friends!

Here is a website describing Island Bar. A couple of OK pictures. The picture with the trailer set up shows some of the expanse. The other picture is a downstream shot. Click on some of the links on the right side and it will take you to some of the other places along the river. Hammer creek is a great campground about 20+ minutes north of Riggins. There are some shots of Shorts Bar also. Enjoy!!
