Lots of boats run K&N. Most lake boats just have the wire mesh screen type which is primarily for flame arresting. With river running in some areas you can track a lot of silt into the boat from going ashore. Therefore a good air filter is recommended. Usually it’s the engine compartment that’s restrictive not the filter. One way to see if your restricted is to have someone go back and open the dog house or lift the hatch while you’re at 90 to 100 percent throttle. If you gain some RPM then some venting would help.
