| I have to redo the floor in my river boat and am trying to decide if i should go with checker plate or spray in box liner my dog house is already checkerplate and cant decide so lets hear sugestions thanks. |

| Only know one guy that had a checkerplate floor, and it was colder than any other boat floor I know of. There was not a damn thing you could do to keep your feet warm when out boating in the Fall. |

I have a 1/4" CP floor in my boat. I thoroughly acid washed it to remove the glare and make it less slippery. I love the floor for durability and looks, but it is REALLY cold in the fall and does nothing to eliminate vibration and noise. If I was replacing the floor, Id probably look to something that would absorb/dampen the noise and vibration a little better. I'd miss it, but my ears wouldn't  |

| I've got a CP floor and love it.Haven't noticed any difference from plywood for temperature.No issues with slippage.Quite a bit lighter for removal and if weight is an issue. |

| I used to build boats, we would use 1/2 ply, paint it with fiberglass resyn and then glue vinyl decking material to the wood, wrap around and inch or two and staple the edges. Usually lasts 5-8 years. We did aluminum floor once, expensive, cold, looks bad after a season but really durable.... |

I second that! That is what is in my boat and i works good, lifts out of the way easy as well , mine is a little old and is rotting is some spots but im sure "up keep" would solve that .

| I decided to go with 1/2 plywood with roll on boxliner on top of it and a checker plate engine cover for the back. |
