Thought I would share some neat stuff that's been passed to me by some racers recently(thanks guys!) If anyone has anything vintage they would like to see preserved or at least documented by all means contact me. I want to get a good library of this stuff going before it gets lost in time.
Hope you guys(and gals) enjoy this
Cheers

Here's some info I came across in the old Peace River files.
Most of us will recognize some of these names since there's a few sons still racing.
That's a lot of prize money, especially back then.

I'm not sure but by the name of his boat I'd almost think that was THE "Peter Puck". I think he owned the Oilers close to that time too...Maybe a little later.
Maybe he found it cheaper to own a hockey team

The boat # 378, was indeed owned by (Peter Puck)
Known as the "Free Enterprise".
I have part of this boat on my boat.
Although in somewhat unstable condition, it is still in Alberta.
However I'm not at liberty to say exactly where.

Yes as has been stated that was THE Pocklington. In fact there is video of Peter driving on the Smokey and running thru a rather rough rapid his navigator(this was back in the days of navigators, drivers AND mechanics being in the boat) gets pitched out of the boat. You may know his name as well, Glen Sather hehe
I have word that there has been a new video put together with old race footage dating way back to '78 and it should also be available from us very soon, in fact we should have some for open house. Im VERY excited to see this one as its all this old footage we really need to start preserving and a big reason i started this section. Im sure the producers of that video will start posting more here
I'd like to hear more about that "part" rapid!
Cheers
