When you are measuring a boat, from where to where do you measure? I see there are 16, 17, & 18 foot Outlaw Lynx up for sale. I know they make 16 & 18 footers. Why go 17 feet? I am also wondering if there are big differences with that extra foot, or even the extra 2 feet? I am courious, I am looking to buy a Lynx one day, and am hoping you guys can clear up a bit of my confusion.

Thanks

point of bow to back of transom! and yes those 1 foot increments do make a substantial difference in the attitude of a boat. depends what kind of boating you'll be doing wether it be some skinny water, tight whipping corners or open river or lake with big chop or a combination of the two.leave it up here for discussion for a bit and you'll get the awnsers you're looking for!

More boat more float. A longer or wider bottom boat has more surface area in the bottom. Giving more lift by having more planing surface. An 18' would have a lot less chance of porpoising and will pack a little more weight than the 16'. But a 16 is a lot of fun to drive.

This goes back to needing 2-3 boats. I have a 21' Sport and I have lots of room for coolers, dogs and gear. Buddy has a 17' and cant haul much at all.....BUT, when we get stuck I wish I had smaller boat.
