Just completed a swap from a 175 to a 240 in my E-5 Saber. It has a brand new pump in it with the stock four blade impellar. The boat runs well but my top speed is dissappointing (44 with 30gals of fuel and 500lbs of passenger) I am at sea lvl and I am pulling 5650 RPM. Are my RPM's low ?, I was expecting my top end to be closer to 50.My 175 ran close to this. |

The rpm seem about right, maybe a couple hundred on the high side. Why did you put a 240 in there? The 175 was by far the better motor...I wish they still made them. |

your rpm does seem low. Both my 240's ran 5900 to 6000 with the standard 4 blade. 44 speed is not to far off for an E5, you should able to see 50, but weight and hull setup will effect that.
Are your rpm's from a smatcraft or the merc dial gauge? |
