I have been told my porpoising problem may be due to a "hook" I have in front of my intake. I understand it needs to be flat or maybe even have a little bit of rocker to it. What is the best technique in straightening a v-hull. I know the motor comes out first but after that can the boat stay on the trailer? Can I use a large rubber mallet or do I need to spread the load of the blow out across more surface area? Thanks for all the help in advance guys!

get a 4foot peice of soild 2inch cold roll,round the bottom of it just a bit ,get a scrap peice 4inch by 4 inch of aluminum,lay it in the bottom(used to help spread the blow so it isnt directly to one spot)over the dent ,and then give er a couple good blows and check!

sand bags on the underside of the keel will help too. put them where the dent is and rest the boat on top of them.if the dent is large and right infront of the intake cutting the front of the intake where its welded may help.if its really bad sectioning out the keel or replacing it all together may be the only option

sh!t yeah thanks for mentioning that as i forgot to! when ever i do any amount of bottom dent repairing the boat is takin off trailer and set on sand!

my stringers have oval holes cut in them..i used a bottle jack and a short piece of chain with a hook on each end..hook the chain in each stringer and use the bottle jack to push out the dent in the boat....works awsome and no banging or having to take boat off trailer...
