Anyone have any experience bulling a boat behind fifth wheel in the NWT? As far as I can tell it's not legal up there, but just wondering if they enforce it or not. Can't see it being an issue as I don't think they patrol the hiways much.

I would wait for Will to confirm, but I believe that it's illegal to pull 2 trailers unless the whole rig is "Commercial by design"

Alberta and Manitoba I do believe are the only provinces that allow you to tow behind a fifth wheel there is a maximum total length that is allowed from your front bumper to what ever sticks out on the last unit. It was between 60 -70 feet but Alberta was looking at shorting this. DOT was who I talked to last year on it as I was going to put a receiver on my fifth wheel to tow my sport. Hitch Works, Trevor 1-780-986-5755 I here he is pretty good at this as if its not done correctly your boat will pass you on the highway. Check this out to be sure I was legal with a Chevy 2500 four door reg box, 26ft homestead 5th wheel and my 21ft sport barely as of 2009. I say barely because either I had to shorten the trailer tow bar or remove part of the pump to stay under, they are picky so measure up before you go anywhere.

http://www.transportation.alberta.ca/Content/docType41/Production/recvehtowguide.pdf is the Alberta guide address. 20 meters or 65.6166 feet, and the longest of the units being towed has to be first and the first unit can only be attached to the tow vehicle by means of a fifth wheel attachment. There is a lot of info on this stuff and by the looks of things all provinces and states are different so I stopped at Alberta. Hope this helps.
