I've heard talk of the Brazeau falls. Where do you put in? What time of the year is best to go on the river? I only have a couple of years experience with jet boats so I don't need to get in over my head yet. I've spent a fair bit of time on the Red Deer south of Drum, and a couple of times on the Athabasca at Whitecourt. |

Probably not the best river to run if you don't have a lot of experience, the lower part from the resevoir is a bit braided, and very runnable, but the upper part is rough and tight |

i went to check it out myself last year got to where thesebig huge bolders choke off the river i had two young kids with me and my dad and there was no way i was gonna try and run thru iy its a boat wrecker if you miscalculate on the way back down thru it ...and then a long way to help ....i would do it with a couple of other experienced boaters but it would be a gamble if everyone gets thru with out any dents at the very least .... from the dam up is a great run though |

those boulders are called the box cars, the river is about 60 feet wide above and is forced to go between them about 8 feet wide and yes they have various colors of paint on them, enough room if you don't close your eyes. the falls is about 15 minutes further up from there. this whole section of river from 10 k east of the trunk road when you get into the canyon west is rough and technical, not a place for the inexperienced, lots of exp. guys don't go |
