In addition to being able to maintain plane at a much slower speed, I think this should make a HUGE difference for balancing a load(moose, or boat full of fat guys) or even helping to compensate for a trolling motor on the back...I just plain love the ability to make adjustments on the fly, especially while cruising lakes in big chop or waves with a 12 degree or less. Now I will be able to trim up or down to adjust the ride.... The kit looks to be of decent quality and is a bolt on replacement for the ride plate under the sportjet.

It's just as sturdy as the ride plate it replaces....in very shallow water you would have the thing trimmed all the way up(even with keel). What I want it for is to be able to negotiate rough water... also it will be nice to be able to stay on plane at a slower speed. I got it half way installed....looks great so far. Also looks like I'll get a chance to try it out before winter. I'll update this thread after i've tried it.

I have not seen a ride plate that is not bent.

I've got a 19' sport with a 350 and AT SD309. Has anyone run a diverter on one of these? I am currently using a steel race nozzle.

I've also got a 19' step and 350 with a Berkeley/Dominator and a Placediverter, lost 2 mph from a Steel Race Nozzle. For me it is well worth it to have reverse, fast FLAT take-offs, and Brakes.

I suppose if I went Racing I'd put the Steel Nozzel back on........

What kind of mph are you getting ? I'm in the 70's, can't get to the 80's like the out-west race guys.

Here's a picture both ways. The wedge with the Diverter was to much, lost 2.3 mph.

I can get low 70's with a heavy co-pilot and 35 gallons of fuel. I need to try again with less fuel and 225# less co-pilot. I have a trick reverse setup for the my steel race nozzle that is electric but I have taken it off at the moment. It seemed like after I put the new engine in and my speed came up the the reverse setup was some how dragging water and making the boat pitch side to side violently. It worked great when the boat only did 60. I don't race and I have another very short nozzle but the boat porposes badly with it on when going over about 50mph. I love the short nozzle because it planes so much better but I can't stand to drive 50 when I know I can go faster. Maybe a place diverter is in order.

Mine has a legal home-built zz4. The plan, when I bought the boat was to put it together and truck out there a couple times a year and Go Rac'in.
I can't get it to run fast enough and every time I'm close those guys seem to find 3 or 4 more mph.
New plan is to put in more HP, stay home and play. My boat doesn't porpoise at all, just chime walks a little at top speed crossing other boat wakes.
It's like the Energizer Bunny. . . . .

Sorry to burst your bubble, but thats not a place diverter, thats what is known as a trim tab, or electric trim tab.

ya....I knew that....got it from the placediverter people. I did edit the title.....as I should have done. It sure works good though. I originally wanted a trim nozzle, but the trim tab is nice too. Wink
