I have heard of some guy's dropping there jets down 2 sizes to .072's. I have heard that it improves starting and gives a little bit more rpm. I run my boat mostly at sea level around Vancouver Island and in the Skeena River. I was just wondering if this is a good idea, as I don't want to compromise reliability, but motor does seem to run pretty rich.

Thanks.

I did mine, and it made a difference in fuel consumption. Throttle response improved as well, but that might have been helped with the new reeds I put in. Don't notice any difference in starting, mine always did start good.

I run between 1,00 and 2,000 ft elevation, and plugs look just fine.

Hey there I jetted down the 175 and it did improve the performance and fuel milelage but remember that all outboards are designed and jetted to run wide open at sea level for 1 hour so be very careful when you jet down and you are at sea level,, up here I am at 2250 ft and I jetted down to 70's and it was perfect so go from there
