SBC 400 short block .020 over, 2 bolt, SRP forged pistons,scat 7/16 I beam rods, scat 4340 internal balanced crank. ATI balancer, cloyes hex adjust chain & cover, ARP main studs, Canton 10 quart Marine pan, Lunati 230 duration hydraulic cam and lifters 9.8 compression with 64 cc heads will make approx 450 HP and 500+ ft lbs with vortec or AFR 180 heads. I built the same motor ( scat rods and crank ) and victor Jr. heads for my 20" tunnel. Full of fuel, 24 beer and my buddy and it pushed it @ 81 mph until my gear / gear timming set pilled up. I am running a tunnel ram and dual carbs although I don't know if I am gainning anaything. Looks cool. The 400 is a great riverboat engine and thats a cheap price.
