Kind of a quick and dirty. More details to follow.
GORGEOUS Weekend. Mid to high 70's. No wind. river at 9500-11000cfs. Lots of spectators out.
Results
1st overall-Boat 163 Team Tuff n Nuff-the Labrums in 58:39 (new course record)
2nd overall -Boat 55 Team Revelation-Duane Carmont 59:58
3rd overall-Boat 140 Team Smoken-Dale Whiteside and Gord Humphrey. 1:00:17.
I think Gord spent a lot of time trying to get Dale to pull over and let him drive something about Dale being a pussy and pickin' safe lines-something like that. The LS3 in the short Step Tech was definitely IMPRESSIVE. It absolutely shredded the rough and BIG water.
A side note-they took the boat almost 50 miles upstream of Riggins to Mackay Bar (in the Idaho Salmon River Primitive (roadless) Area and had a hamburger on Friday. The Western Whitewater Association that provides the safety and sweep boats for the race was having a Poker Run kind of activity going on at the same time and were upriver also.
No crashes, no sinkings and no injuries. That always helps.
Thanks Canada and Outlaw/Eagle for sending down such high caliber jetboaters and equipment to run with us. Gord mentioned that next year it was going to be Canadian Unlimiteds to challenge the River of No Return.
More later......hopefully from more and different perspectives. _________________ "faster, Faster, FASTER until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of DEATH"#163 "Tuff-n'-Nuff"

Almost forgot the things closest to a capitalists heart
PAYOUT
Towing money= $500 per boat that made the trip. Leg money $100 per leg and the Tech-In/boat show counted as one also. Purse money to be figured this week and sent out. If you came and ran all the legs you went home with no less than $1600 and purse money to follow. RACERS-YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE. _________________ "faster, Faster, FASTER until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of DEATH"#163 "Tuff-n'-Nuff" |

I believe it was a 6.2 liter MFI LS3. Thru the transom Lightnings for exhaust. At 6.2 (372ci) it was too big to be a "B" motor. _________________ "faster, Faster, FASTER until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of DEATH"#163 "Tuff-n'-Nuff" |

i believe he was test runing the new LS376 (515hp)motors which is one of the motors along with the ford 392 thats going be run in the trial year LS class here in Canada.i think my self this class is going to grow like wildfire during and after its trial year.and i think its a show of the times to come.with gm soon releasing a small block 454 600+hp crate motor right there with the ford 520ci 620hp crate motor.i wouldn't be surprised if in the next few years it coming to be all crate engine classes with the exception of unlimited!
When in doubt,hammer down! |

ok got it , i had thought the LS3 was a 6L so was expecting his boat to be in B class would of been nice if they were 6L so a guy running in the LS class could run in B at a Worlds race . _________________ Rick's Precision Machine
