In the North Sask towards Tomahawk was a blast. Only ran for half an hour or so but what a rush!! I didn't have my GPS along but when my sunglasses went flying and my eyes started leakin...we had to be doing better than than the posted speed limit on the trip out ..lol These things are nutz to say the least! Although I'm not impressed with the lone boulder I backed the trailer over 10 feet into the water which in turn dislodged the right tail light and sent it floating down river on its voyage to wherever. Another thing that got me showing the hairy eyeball was the trailer starting to float east down river once the boat was off it until it lodged up against a rock. I can't get over how this damn thing pulls once it gets on plane..incredible is an understatement! It's like my wife pulling me away from the under a buck bin at Princess Auto! Getting back on the trailer is a task that I definitley need to practice ...lol I'm hooked on this thing. No jackasses on sea doos to contend with. Should have bought one of these along time ago!! You guys are onto something here with these river boats..and it may just catch on ...lol If anyone is goin for a run near Rocky or Red Deer gimme a shout at 403 505 0747.( My names Jeff).I'd be happy to get some coaching from some people with expierience!

That is sweet Hoolie, good to see you with a better voyage. getting out on the river is freaking awesome and most people don't understand until they get there. the lakes are over crowded and the scenery doesn't change much, except for the bikini's.
Glad to see you happy (post some pics!)

Yesterday was even better..Had some friends down and spent the after noon rippin around on the North Saskatchewan..My wife had her first 100 mph run in a boat.. I assumed that her hand motions meant go faster..was I wrong !!LMAO oh well she got over it ..eventually Met Derek there who purchased Rob's boat..that thing is sick close up, and sounded great!!...but still would have looked better with my fat ass in it..lol You guys are definitely onto something with this river boating thing!! I'm hooked! But I still need practice getting back on the trailer in a current...lol I'd post some pics and vid but my bud dropped my camera into the tunnel and it's FUBAR.

Hooligan:
Where abouts do you live? I live in Alberta Beach.
I'm only 45min drive to Devon boat launch.
Also about 1hr drive to Whitecourt.
I don't think I'm the guy to give you river boating pointers, but I could probably show you a couple of what NOT TO DO's. LMAO!!!
I've made a lot of mistakes and I have the hull to prove it.
The good thing is that it still floats.
No sense in wasting $$$$ on fixing it until I learn what the hell I'm doin.

I'm just on the North end of Rimbey. I haven't broke anything else aside from the pushrod and she runs like a champ now. Haven't ran into anything..."yet"..lol. I think the majority of any damage i do will be from putting it back on the trailer ...lol

I just finished a month off and likely gotta work again starting thursday..
I doubt very much that anyone in that class wants a newb bouncing of the shore around them while they are trying to get to the finish line..lol Maybe next year after alot more seat time on the river. I'm up for some runnin though.

Wapiti - 1....Hooli -0 Had a bit of an early day yesterday and grabbed the medic then headed off to Wapti Gardens and put in. Had a blast goin up river with only 2 dingers on the way. Mighta gone 5 miles or so and met some boaters on the shore. Bs'd for a bit and started back to the launch..well ...down stream is alot freakin different ..lol and since my memory aint what it should be mangaged to find the 30 dingers that I missed on the way up.then.. zigged when I shoulda zagged. and then didn't mash the throttle enough then......discovered friction.... So .in my sandles ..with the water barely over my toes found myself a log and managed to move that heavy contraption about 5 feet. The people we met were kind enough to stop and help us push the 4 feet to freedom. Just to add to the festivities ..once friction free...it started to pour. Now, ..a exert from Forest Gump comes to mind.." and there was sting ging rain, and sideways rain" ...lol. Broke the start cup and a few minor dents under her ..but what a great time No pictures..but I can go into MS paint a draw a picture

If you fail as a boater and rigger, you can always become a writer .
Pushing tunnel boats is not easy.

I'm gonna get a welder to fab me 2, 6' aluminum bars with a square paddles 12" long that will fit the tunnel on each side. So the paddle has some traction when I push the boat. I thought of an easy way to get the boat off the gravel bar..but I gotta build one first and see if it works like I think it will. Sad thing is if it does..I'll be my best customer.
