I'm getting kind of impatient about going boating.
But stuck out here in the bush I don't even know if there is water open to go boating in yet.
Is the Red Deer open?
Is anything open yet? |

Red Deer should be no problem if you put in at the dam. It's been open past my house for a while. I'm waiting till a bit more ice is off the edges, so I don't beat up my "new" boat. |

If your looking for a tag along give me a shout and I'll get the puddle jumper ready. |

Well here's how the Blindman/Red Deer looks like as of today:
Yesterday was the first day we've seen open water on the Red Deer side and I suspect we're not going to see much for flow on the Blindman this year unless we get some rain. The skinnier the better..........right? _________________ 17' Firefish Frenzy, 200 opti, 8 degree rock chewin' bottom. Fishin' Extreme

Just the way I like it
I believe that it would have been "do-able" today. The water is running on top of the ice at the mouth, but sort of open for portions above. The 2A bridge is still full of ice so it may be a little tense at points in between. The challenge right now is getting the boat in the water (lots of ice on the banks). _________________ 17' Firefish Frenzy, 200 opti, 8 degree rock chewin' bottom. Fishin' Extreme

its pointed in the right direction. Just get somebody to push. You might want to hang on though.
I have leaned up against that fence before so it might not be the best launch idea ever. |

This weekend is my projected "first day on the water", IF I'm not working.
I better get on that boat of mine to get er ready.
Should try to get a few boats out there. |

Hinesy. We'll have to check Ron's launch and may go from there. If not, I guess we'll put in at the dam and head down stream. Still have a few things to do on the boat and they aren't getting done very fast. |
