Did a trip with some locals on the Upper Brazeau. It was my first time on the river and won't be the last; the scenery is spectacular:

That was my question.............Where'd you launch and how many mile's you guy's put on.Is there a sweet destination or can you go forever?Brazeau is by Rocky no........

We launched at the Brazeau dam which is between Drayton Valley and Rocky Mountain House and west 50 miles.
Yesterday we put on 250 km round trip and went to within about 15 km of the Jasper National Park boundary (I suspect that would be as far as you might want to go). Depending on water levels you may not get as far as there are some boney, bouldery, nasty spots.

Nothing personal, but there's only one set of balls and one boat that I know of that would do that trip and Skinny owns both of them lol.

It is absolutely Gods country up there!

Ya, I here you!
It is a fantastic trip.
Last time I made it was way back in the late 70's

Lots of rollers and big pebbles.
We did it in one of Fred's old steel bottom boats and sustained about
a grand worth of damage not including the suds we lost.

The job got canceled while I was up there but I still made a trip of it. Put about 140 km on the Wapiti and about 70 km on the McLeod on the way through Whitecourt.
We will boat together one day Cool

Rapidchaser i cant believe that fred bounced of some rocks littleon loose bubblies must of had lots. lol. braz is a awesome river its been 6yrs ago last trip,it was a 5 dayer . skinny thats a big day you had well worth it . we will get back up their soon falltime 3,4 days i hope later.

Fishing was good. No salmon but got into about 10 sturgeon biggest being about 6ft.
