The crew of FX67, "The Nervous Wreck" would like to thank everyone for the incredible amount of work put in by all our volunteer staff to make the 2007 World championship races happen. To really understand what goes into this event makes me proud of our fellow associations in Peace River and Whitecourt for stepping up to the plate. What a blast!
To my wife: Thanks for putting up with a winter full of aluminum shavings and bondo dust in our once uncluttered garage. I couldn't have competed without your help and the volunteering to help out the timers definitely proved you are as nuts about the sport as I am! It is a tough, thankless job that is the most critical aspect of all, without it we don't race! You make it that much better!
To all the volunteers: Without them, this event doesn't happen, period! There are not enough thanks for all the people that made it happen, be proud!
My Crew: Navigator, Rick Bennett, crazy bugger stood in there when he should have been running for the gun to put the old hull out of her misery! Great navigator and mechanic with a set of brass ones, never doubt that! Wait till you see the videos for proof!
Wheel man: Greg Green, always there with some laughs when I was looking for the gun! Always managed to see the bright side! Fair Dinkum Hehmer!
Boss and major sponsor: Kevin Lyons, not only did he sponsor the Unlimited class and the Nervous Wreckl, he was also in the thick of the battle in B class till the marathon claimed the SS Stoker. Past and future champion there, you can count on it!
Tim, Tim and Brian: These guys have no trouble answering the stupid questions and loaning parts to try out for that elusive mph! Words of wisdom available to all! Great to be associated with racers of this calibre!
Vantage valve, Peerless Production testing and rentals, Harvey Werboweski Trucking, Vector Communications, Top Gun Oilfield Services, Raw dog ventures, Rig Products, Radical Ventures. These guys were crazy enough to sponsor the Wreck, they helped make the wheels go round!
Mark D. and Nikki, for taking the reins at work and keeping the operation going so smoothe! Thanks you guys, your the best!
Lastly but not leastly, to all our fans lining the banks in both the wet and dry legs, cold and hot! Sorry for not waving to everyone but I was holding on for dear life most of the time, ask Rick!
To all of the out of country racers, it was a great pleasure to meet the top Jet boat pilots, their crews and families. To Lloyd Anderson, nice to meet you and I hope to meet again in the future, hopefully in NZ. Andreas Wilson, it was a pleasure to meet you Amigo, glad the Canadian river gods helped you out with the six life preservers till help arrived! Post your story on that when you get home! Have a safe trip.
Good luck everyone, see you in 2008!
