Did a trip with some locals on the Upper Brazeau. It was my first time on the river and won't be the last; the scenery is spectacular:

We launched at the Brazeau dam which is between Drayton Valley and Rocky Mountain House and west 50 miles.
Yesterday we put on 250 km round trip and went to within about 15 km of the Jasper National Park boundary (I suspect that would be as far as you might want to go). Depending on water levels you may not get as far as there are some boney, bouldery, nasty spots. _________________ 17' Firefish Frenzy, 200 opti, 8 degree rock chewin' bottom. Fishin' Extreme

Hey Art;
Nothing personal, but there's only one set of balls and one boat that I know of that would do that trip and Skinny owns both of them lol.
It is absolutely Gods country up there!
Cheers and good on ya!
Skinny those video's and the job you did with them are Awesome!

Ya, I here you!
It is a fantastic trip.
Last time I made it was way back in the late 70's
Lots of rollers and big pebbles.
We did it in one of Fred's old steel bottom boats and sustained about
a grand worth of damage not including the suds we lost. _________________ FORD=Power for the thrills of life!

In spite of the way it may appear, I am only a "calculated risk taker".........I guess that comes from welding on live piping and vessels for a living
So far the Brazeau is the most beautiful trip I've done to date. In the canyons the rock formations are breath taking.
The Brazeau video will be mostly head mounted video. A great view, but on the drivers head seems to be a tad too much movement (scanning the water for obstacles). I'll get at it soon. _________________ 17' Firefish Frenzy, 200 opti, 8 degree rock chewin' bottom. Fishin' Extreme

Mountain:
The job got canceled while I was up there but I still made a trip of it. Put about 140 km on the Wapiti and about 70 km on the McLeod on the way through Whitecourt.
We will boat together one day .
