Yesterday was the first runs in Grande Prairie to the Canfor Bridge and back. Here is what I know:
Pooley was back with his backup motor but had problems on the ramp at the last min with a ring gear and had to trailer to the top end. He made the return leg.
Aquaholic was also back with the backup engine but did not complete the upstream leg. They finally surfaced after most people not knowing where they were and may be able to get back in. Missed the downstream leg.
Doc was on the bank on the downstream leg altho Im not sure why. His day got worse when a towing accident caused the boat to break free, drift into some logs and sink. They did get it back on the trailer and last we heard people were trying to talk him into getting her going again(we have a day off today)
Halcon wrecked a pump and was on the bank up stream. We belive they got a pump housing sorted and should be back tomorrow
Richard Grant leading FX by 10 minutes hit some big rollers and ended up onshore by some 50 feet. by the time we passed him in SJ they had pushed to the rivers edge but were exhausted. they got back in the water somehow but came in after the leg had closed. The still took home the midway trophy and are in the lead by some 8 minutes
Im sure there is more but its very hard to keep track of so many boats.
in SJ Hugster is still in front of us by about 13 mins and the dingo boat was taking on water on the downstream leg and had to beach right after the finishline. They had ALOT of water in the boat and they r lucky they did not turtle in a corner. They remain about 15 mins back from us
I will definatly try very hard to get times up today. We have a new idea to solve the tech issue
