Soon to be released by Mercury the new Turbo impeller for Sportjet 200 , 210 , 240 and 250. This stainless steel impeller is similar in design to the Hamilton Jet Whitewater impeller. We had a customer run a prototype over 70 hours in a 250 equipped boat with no loss of performance. Very limited supply. Cost $900.00 Can. Call Outlaw Eagle to pre order.

how much longer is it than a standard impeller in the sport jet. Will it put to much load on a 175 single? What can one expect from this impeller? Will it increase performance, economy or is it just designed to minimize cavitation in rough water? There is a gain from the 3 blade in the 175 to the four in terms of coming out of the hole Will this also improve or more greatly improve that when heavily loaded? Or even improve more greatly in a twin 175 boat in terms of coming out of the hole with a huge load on?

I don't know about this new impeller, but I can tell you what I know of stainless steel four blades as I am looking at putting one in my merc 115/80. The have the ability to catch water better which gives you a better hole shot. In some instances you may gain a little speed but not that much, depending on your configuration and hp out put, and you may get a little better performance. The reason that I have found, through research, is because there is less flex in the stainless than there is in the aluminum, four blades vs three gives you a bit more surface contact for your blade, and believe it or not smooth stainless is less porous than smooth aluminum there for the water has less Resistance and gives you a bit better head pressure and better flow in your pump. Hope this helps a little.

Make sure you keep the 3 blade, the 4 in that 115/80 may not be that great depending on your boat. I have 3 or 4 imp. for my 80 jet and like the 3 blade the best for fuel economy and speed. The 4 will spin the motor faster around 450 rpms in my merc.

I have talked to the guys that built my boat and they are saying that the stainless will give me a better hole shot which is my major concern. There info is coming from tests they have done themselves. However I never throw good parts away, I just don't want to give up the bucks for the stainless. I do pretty good and I usually am over the rated weight limit on my boat. I am 340 by my self and when I pack on another 400 lbs in people I am a little slow but I am not in the races. I do however appreciate any and all knowledge on the 115/80 jet engine. I have considered pumping it to the 135 ( same block) but I don't think I will gain that much, so I am just doing the fine tuning on the cabs n such. I have some valve pop at mid range so I am thinking about putting in the carbon valves when I get the bucks. I own a 18' North river Mariner and love it.

The new 3 blade from OBJ in Cal. is twice the imp as my stock 3blade was. The newer one is twice as heavy and the stainless even heavier. Try em out and let us know your thoughts after.
I just found I had to run higher rpms to stay on step and there was little difference in speed. Holeshot would be better with the 4 blade, but mine jumps out with a 3 so I am sticking with the new design 3 blade.

The new impeller measures 6 1/8" long and the standard 3 or 4 blade 5 3/8". It will give you a better hole shot without cavitation.

I'm planning on getting the new impeller, but I would also like to get the stainless wear ring. I can get the impeller locally, but nobody does wear rings. Should I buy the impeller and wear ring from the same place so they can size the wear ring to the impeller? Or are they going to be generic sized?

The right hand blade looks taller. Will it still fit a 175hp?
