Xero,Location is SW Michigan town of Muskegon along lake Michigan. (only 6hrs drive from you) Before emptying into Muskegon Lake, the river takes many forks and reconverges into the two main forks. Bottom is mostly hard sand and as the channels narrow they still maintain a foot or two of depth with solid banks. Sometimes easier (and more fun) to try and keep going vs turning around. Also makes for interesting photo ops.You can also travel up river quite a ways. I've made it to Newaygo which is appx 40 miles up stream.

Looks like typical midwest swamp river part of the problem jetting this last in the season over growth and bowling up the impeller with weeds.

Come on lead boy, no pics of the broken off reverse bucket? You didn't want to admit to rail sliding that tree? The video is seriously cool. Actually the Muskegon is not swampy at all along the main branches. It's a very pretty typical river. the river bed is sand, sand, and more sand. Hardly a rock to be found. Just those pics were taken running through the marsh area because it's fun. I think lead boy had to stop twice for weed cleaning duty, but once it was his fault for turning late and swinging the rear end right over the reeds. We never get weeds if we stay out of the marsh. Just have to push of sand bars occasionally. Wed. night was a seriously fun run.

6 Hrs huh? How late in the season can we run it?
Would ya like a 21' cameraboat to follow ya?
Whats it like getting stuck on a sand bar. Ive always thought that would actually stop you fairly abruptly. Something we have yet to experience. Gravel bars seem safer(???)
Cheers
More pics pls

Don't have the rollbar mount cam available yet but here is a few stills from out last run with the handheld. Would be sweet to have a 16 sport ahead jumping this stuff

I've yet to get a face-full of hull, but yes, sand puts on the brakes pretty good. I concur, come on out, we got a couple weeks yet before it's too cold.

Hey leadville,
You have the Q100 steel bottom and Plastic nose ? I know zero has both !
I like to run the same kind of water but haven't tried jump'n the tree trunks yet.
As for Sandbars, they don't stop you like you hit a wall or anything, you just need a little speed. You'd be surprised how far you can go across one, but it takes more than two people if you don't make it !

I do have the QT100, no plastic though. Have not needed it yet. My bottom side still looks like new....ok, one weld job after going up the Highline irrigation canal in Grand Junction, CO. Sending NT my video footage tomorrow. There is a good log hit in there, even went back for seconds.

Yea I have the QT and the UHMW sponson protection but nothing on the foward centerpod and thats where I have dinged the boat twice, once on each side.
The right side was a hard rock strike and it felt like the whole boat lifted 8" in the air while running a pretty skinny "rapid". It put a decent dent in the "L' angle lift strake.
The left side was on our last outing and it put a shallow dent in the actual hull just to the left of center. its a very minor dent and was a log. trust me when I say when you see the video you will see perfectly what log it was! Here's a hint when I am 18" out of the drivers seat, thats likely the strike LOLOL
I took apart my pump today and it is NOT happy! I'm really gonna have to find a SS impellor cause mine is trashed. Not to mention I can't even get it off the damn shaft but thats another thread.......
Not sure I will make it down this year but who knows if the weather holds????
Cheers
