so was out on some white water on the bow river and hit some rapids hard and dented the right front about mid way up anyone have some good ideas on the best way to fix it?

a dent is like a woman.no two are the same and theres usually more problems that you dont find out about till you get inside them.(now thats a metaphor,feel free to use it).i suggest getting an estimate done by a good boat repair company and then decide if its worth fixing yourself.the amount of tools it takes to pull even a small dent can add up quickly.never mind the facilities to do it in.if you weigh your options and decide to do it yourself then post some pics and im sure youll get lots of responses from guys on how theyd fix it.good luck to you.post some pics anyways.lets see what you have

well tools or a shop ant a problem just was looking for some input but im half way there as it is to being fixed, the major problem was not enough bracing in the front of the boat they just folded on hard impact to rapids so thats where we start build it bomb proof.

No one posted because very few know how to fix them other than a few chosen ones. Cool

The problem is that aluminum stretches real easy and most guys get in there with a hammer and start beating the hell out of it and it ends up making a worse mess. If it is creased or across a bend, I would not even touch it. Take it to Outlaw after the boating season is over.

Build yourself a slide hammer, a 1 1/2" dia shaft with a shoe on one end, a collar welded in an appropriate position and then a weight which slides up and down against the collar, it helps to have 2 people, but under the nose its quite hard, if you can put a little pressure on the dent with a hyd. jack, it will move easier, I weld eyes to the shop floor and use the hoist and porta-power
