How much has the 19 step-tec changed since 98 till now. If you have the same set-up in an 04 or 05 hull will it beat a 1998?
There is a decent hull up the street from me for sale that I was looking at but if I set it up to race fx I don't want to get beat because of changes to the boat. Just I noticed all of the fx boats are new hulls. _________________ If you ain't hittin bottom you ain't jetboatin! |

So...almost 700 views and no comments. Total newbie question
Are the hulls from say a 1998 step tec 17'er the exact same as the 04,05 or 06 hull?
Just if you look at sleds, the chassis refinements year after year are dramatic....how much are the sport hulls changing??? Will they handle the same or better, are speeds the same or faster?? _________________ If you ain't hittin bottom you ain't jetboatin! |

I am not sure if they have changed a lot but they have done changes to them over the years. The StepTec bottom I believe is the same. I am not sure what year they perfected the StepTec bottom but I don't think they have changed it at all from that point. As far as other hull changes I believe that there maybe some, The Aluminum is lighter and stronger. The are actually a faster boat now with the same power plants. But that's just my opinion. What do I know
