I thought I was doing good at learning to read river Ha!
Going from the 50th St. boat launch we headed up river dodging #@%^^ canoes and kayaks and some pretty inconsiderate Morons, when lo and behold we arrived at Devon.
I could not believe the amount of people in the river. not to mention about 18 4x4s parked in the middle of it!
One 4x4 was traveling along the bank and sunk to the roof line, a brand new unit.?
Anyway I couldn't use the channel and my boat is 26 ft long and probably weighs more than a locomotive loaded. I'm at 3000rpm and I decided to side the boat and made it past the carnage.
I picked up some pebbles(boulders) going through and tried to clear them by stomping on the grate, got rid of some but not all.
Going back down river ,other side of Demon oops! Devon, my boat started to vibrate, lost a very tiny amount of rpm and it remained to the boat launch.
I looked inside the hand hole and checked with a mirror didn't see anything.
Can someone tell me what the next step is? do I have to drain oil out of the bowl and remove it? Or should I just go back up river and throw rocks at canoes and kayaks and 4x4s?
Still not sure on river reading either _________________ FORD=Power for the thrills of life!

Just pull the bowl off and inspect the impeller. Maybe one of the fins on the impeller broke off. Or you may have a stick lodged in there that you can't see or feel through the pump hole.
Yes, there are some dorks out there on the river but I would refrain from throwing rocks at them. _________________ Life is Great. It's Reality that Sucks! |

Sure sounds like you have something stuck in the impeller or the bowl. Losing RPM along with vibration though would make me check that all the plug wires were on first. Part of running jets is learning what you can get away with, kind of amazing sometimes. The other part is taking them apart to fix them of course. _________________ -Jesse |
