Planning on going up the North Saskatchewan River mid June.
Anyone put in west of Buck Lake?
Is Blue Rapids an issue heading upstream?

Hey there Brent, putting in west of Buck Lake might be tough, no real good spots to launch. Most people launch at Drayton Valley which has a great boat launch at Willey West campground. As for the Blue Rapids, no problem. Have fun. Brian Very Happy

Thanks Brian.
Are the Nordegg and/or Baptise big enough to run my 20' Nahani up?

No. Not enough water, but you can ran up the Brazeau to the mouth of the Nordegg where there is a pretty decent fishing hole. Watch for rocks on that stretch especially above the mouth of the Nordegg to the turbines. If you see a green 18ft Bobcat flying a Canadian flag wave me in. Brian Very Happy

I was on the NSR last month and as we were heading up stream we were also looking for good launching spots up to the Alder Flats area. We only found one spot betweeen Drayton and the Brazeau forks. To me it looks like it would be near the Buck Creek area. From the river, we found a good road thats leads to a gravel pit. looking on the Toporama map, I think it has to be the road by Buck creek. I would check it out first, they may have a gate on this road. But from the river, it definetly looks like you could launch with not too much problem.
the middle of the first map, should be the gravel pit, the second map is voomed out.
