Next time wait until the river flow peaks and starts coming back down. Then there isnt near as much crap coming with it. I used to run the blindman river from the red deer river to where it crosses the highway on 2a. Its pretty wild you dont spend much time in the water, mostly flyin through the air. Only way it could be better is if it was longer. Some kayak guy told me that stretch is a class 5, whatever that is.

I'm stunned at this .
Why ?
Drugs ?
Alcohol ?
The end result was a given for anyone ever having a plugged intake . No amount of HP will help if you can't get fluid in to pump out or did you forget about that ?
With the mud floe you were in anyone sober would have had that thought to stop themselves .
Call it hindsight , call me a pussy ,come on guys that was a STUPID IDEA .
I wish I could afford to throw away money like that .
Usually the gov. does that because it's easy to spend others money . Taxpayers had to pay for those 25 or did you forget that too ?
This will only affect the decision makers to put more rules on boating , thanks for nothing guys .
PS
I am glad that you made it out alive regardless ! Geez

Are you trying to piss people off on here.......? Confused

There's easier ways...keep trying to sell a "heap" Laughing

I don't think it's the right tool for the job, we had a 23' boat with high sides when we went up and we were getting lots of water over the winshield, im sure my Predator would not have made it as far. I think if I drink a couple quarts of Vodka, bring some guys with a few ounces of dope and i'll borrow Jack's boat, anyone interested ? Shocked

Wow what a start. Felix gets the number one spot on "the list"

#1 The Heart River from the mouth with the Peace River past Nampa and back. Best when it's at 15 000 to 20 000 m3.

Now we need to hear more details of Doc's teaser story....running the Blindman from the Red to where it crosses highway 2a.

I think we got away from Richards’s intent of this post as a “River list” to get us all looking for new destinations and planning some spring and summer trips. If I’m ever around I would love to run that little river of Dawg’s in flood. As the risk level goes up so does the penalty for failure, all part of the adventure/game.

Canada. Upper and lower Red Deer, Clearwater (central Alberta), Little Red Deer, Blindman, Medicine, Ram, Brazeau, North Saskatchewan ( above and below Abraham Dam), Bow, Athabasca, Berland, Smokey, Peace River, Wapiti, in NWT Hay River, Mackenzie, Root River, English Chief, in BC Columbia, BleaBerry, Halfway, White River, Palliser, Kootenay, St.Mary, Pine, Moberly. I may have missed a few, but I have had great times on all of these.

New Zealand in no order of favorites (Google maps, didn’t have names on all the rivers so I had to guess at some)
Waimakarri River (to Bealey Pub), Otira River, Gladstone?, Arahura, Hokitika, Totara, Kakapotahi, Wanganui, Mauior river/lakes, North and South Okuru rivers, Waiatoto, Arawhata, Haast, Makarora, Upper and Lower Clutha, Kawarau, Watukituki, Hester? Shotover, Dart, Reese, Green Stone(sorry not an open river but cool), Oteti, Mataura River, Waitaki, Rakaia, Waiau (North only).
Mexico. Rio Balsas, Cutzamala River
Usa. Salmon, Clearwater, Snake, Rogue, Klamath, Trinity (at Hoopa)

On the “Bucket” list: NZ: Hurunui river (in high water), upper shoot over (need an uplifting), Hollyford, and many others. Hundreds of Northern BC and NWT rivers and the rivers of the Mexico World Race this spring.

Top five Favorites in no order; The White river in BC, the Clearwater in central AB, the Salmon River in Idaho, the Reese and the Watukituki in NZ and the Root in NWT.

Tuchodi, Prophet, Muskwa, Kechika, Tunragen, Gatho, Sikanni and the Liard, looks like we'll be back up the Tuchodi this summer or way up the Muskwa

A2 on the Rock's posted awhile ago about his trip from Whitecourt to Brule Lake (Jasper park boundry + a bit LOL)

We've got that on our "to-do" list next year with the family. Looks like a great trip.
