It isn't the jets plugging, it is your air vents to the bowls that get plugged.

Oh yeah the weight makes a difference, but this is a comparison that is closer to a 14 degree hull against an 8 degree hull. |

Go with the 383. It is a great engine for either Berkely style or Hamilton pumps.
