brian, go talk to ted. he has fitted a few 240 to 175. i have driven one and it went well out of the hole and good performance when grill is full of stones (all of the time ) |

pls correct me if i am wrong, but the "performance" loss or gain is solely based upon the clearance is it not?
if so, then a s/s or plastic wear ring with same clearance will have the same performa ... |

keen to know speed also, some kiwi boats are up to 120mph.. and have heard of others pushing past this... of course it's all academic once you get onto a good braided shallow river.. |

Yes it is because the tolerance can be kept a lot closer. We have seen new impellers and housing's with only 15 hrs on them with .030 clearance. We have had some of ours with 200 hrs on them and only ... |

why do they perform so much better?
is it because of a closer tolerance of impellor OD's than stainless?
do they perform same as s/s once the impellor OD's are worn?

eric a few issues back in NZ jet boating national mag, the same RR hull was tested with SJ, lexus and Vette LS1 ..... I'll have a look but think it was a 175SJ but in these hulls did not think the spe ... |
