13th Annual Herb Setz Sr Memorial Poker Rally

Folks, I’m happy to announce that we are having the 13th Annual Herb Setz Sr Memorial Poker Rally on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Date: August 16, 2025
Location: Peace River
Departing from: Lower West Peace Launch
Departing Time: 12 noon
Finishing at: Strong Creek Park
Total length: 60 miles
Poker hands will be 20$ each
Prizes: Top 3 hands will split 50% of the proceeds and the other 50% will be donated to the Peace River SPCA

Kids under 12 hands are free, prize for every child, Top 3 hands get first pick

Dinner tickets will be available at registration for a locally catered meal

Like in previous years, card stop #1 will be at the lower west peace boat launch during registration. Then we will head down river 19 miles to card stop #2 at the newly renovated Graham Flats gazebo, and on to Herbs cabin for card stop #3 at the 26 mile mark. Back up river through Peace River townsite, to card stop #4 at the mouth of the Smoky River and then finally to card stop #5 at Strong Creek Park.

Camping at Strong Creek is available to book for 10$ per night through the MD of Peace No.135. Strong Creek Park is located 8 km south of the Town of Peace River, Alberta on Shaftesbury Trail (Highway 684).

The rally is also open to non boaters and campers alike with hands available for purchase after the rally at Strong Creek. Come on out and enjoy a great day on the river or a great evening with friends! Tons of cash and prizes to be won!
